Prayer actually is a major way of putting the word of God you know into practice. The word of God is power; the believer’s power source. Your prayer as a serious believer, can only be powerful if you pray the word of God.
Let the Devil understand that you know what the word of God tells you and what you also know to be your right as a bona fide child of God.
So, to demonstrate power, you must declare the word of God profusely in your prayers; speak those words straight into the ears of Satan and his agents. The power to overcome Satan and his agents are in the words of God that you know.
It will be difficult, if not impossible for you to overcome the Devil through prayer without the knowledge of the word of God. God is not happy when we remain ignorant of His word. No wonder the Bible records this declaration of God Himself: “…My people perish for lack of knowledge…”
Many people have died before their God appointed time, simply because they did not know how to challenge the spirit of death their enemies sent to them. They did not know what Bible portion to use to drive back the spirit of death to whoever had sent it to them. So, the spirit of death easily take them away prematurely.
I, that am counselling you to get knowledge of the word of God, I am counselling you based on my own very personal experiences as well as those of others too.
If God opens your eye to see that thing they call the spirit of death, you will discover that it is totally blind – no eye at all. It goes with dangerous club which it could use to club whoever it is sent to kill to death. I have been privileged to see this evil, monstrous destroyer of mankind. God just wanted me to see what the enemies of my soul had sent to violently and suddenly take away my life, for reason or reasons best known to them.
Why did God allow me to see the terrible looking demon lurking around my door? He wanted me to address the deadly blind spirit. The first thing I did was to begin to speak the word of God to him. I didn’t need to go to pick up the Bible to check what word to read out from there, no. I used the word of God that is already in my mouth readily.
“Hey you! Stop right there! What are you looking for here? You are in the wrong place. You cannot kill me because you were not sent by God, my Father. So, carry your evil assignment back to your senders. Death is not in God’s agenda for my life this time. God assures me that He will satisfy me with long life. (Psalm 91:16). I take authority over you right there where you are and command you to depart and go back to your senders, for I shall not die but live and declare the works of God,” (in the land of the living). (Psalm 118:17). I command you to depart now and go and execute your evil assignment upon your sender(s) in Jesus name. It is written that “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1,2). Depart now and go back to your senders right now in the name of Jesus Christ!”
At the end of this prayer of authority and power over that spirit of death, I overcame the Devil and his cohorts who had wanted me dead before my time. Even the Lord who showed me when that spirit came to my door, He also opened my eyes at the end of my prayers and showed me when it was going away. And that was it. The spirit of death left.
Many have died and are still dying when they are not supposed to die. And that is because of lack of knowledge as the Bible has said. The enemy wanted to take away my life and destiny in my prime. But because I know my right as a true child of God, I stood my ground and shattered the plan of the enemy to pieces, through the promises of God that I learnt through the study of the word of God.
My dear fellow believers, there is power in prayers that are backed up by the word of God. Serious power.
A very large per cent of the men and women who die these days are victims of untimely and premature death. Death not approved or sanctioned by God, the giver of abundant life. Satan and his agents are blood thirsty. They have many head hunters spread all over the place. There are many destiny and glory hunters all over the place who hunt them to enrich themselves and perpetuate their own existence at the expense of their fellow human beings. But with the power of prayer thoroughly spiced with the word of God, you will always defeat them.
How much of the word of God do you know? If you don’t know the word of God your prayer will be very weak and ineffective.
I want you to understand that the Devil and his cohorts don’t care who you are or what your position or academic qualifications are. You can even be the General Overseer or founder of your church, if you don’t know the word of God and can’t pray as you ought to, you will be at the mercy of your enemy. If you are a professor or have whatever degree, that means nothing to the Devil and his cohorts.
What matters and makes you powerful as a believer is the level of your spiritual power. Are you one of the people who use the Bible as pillow? You put it under your pillow any time you want to sleep, perhaps to fight for you or protect you in the night while you are sleeping? Well, sorry. You are only wasting your time. Your real power is in the word of God that you know and can speak, apply and demonstrate. It is not by using the Bible as a pillow. If you are putting the Bible under your pillow with the hope that your enemy will not attack you when you sleep, well the truth is that you are just increasing the size of your pillow, that’s all.
Your enemy will just laugh at your foolishness and go ahead and attack you mercilessly, even right on top of the Bible. What makes you powerful is not the paper that contains the words of God but the words written in it which you have stored in the inside of you, your heart and mouth.
Study the Bible, don’t use it as a head support or head rest. Make use of its power by declaring its content, the words which are the real source of your power as a true believer.
How powerful is the word of God by the way? The word of God is so powerful that with it you can tread upon lions and adders, the young lions and the dragon, the serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, (Satan). This power can be demonstrated through your warfare prayers, and declaration of the words of God.
Do you want to become a powerful believer? A believer who can pray with authority and power to disgrace the Devil? The Bible is still the manual that teaches you how to be a prayer warrior. This word of God confirms to us what God can turn you to in these statements of the great psalmist: “Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight…”. The importance and necessity of prayer cannot be overemphasized. No wonder the disciples of Jesus Christ requested Him to teach them how to pray.
No doubt, those disciples had seen their Master pray with great results of signs and wonders, so they too wished to do like Him. He took time and taught them how to pray.
We must wait on our prayers. When we pray we must wait patiently for the answer we desire. We must exercise patience for the answer to come. We are not to become discouraged and stop praying if the answer we desire had not come. The Lord’s teaching on prayer shows that we should ask, seek and knock until the desired result comes. Becoming discouraged and starting to complain and murmur mean that you don’t yet know or understand the principles of prayer.
A man like Isaac, the son of Abraham waited for twenty years before God gave them their twin boys – Esau and Jacob. We all know the story of Abraham and Sarah his wife. They did not give up.
There are many things prayer can do in the life of a believer. The Devil knows this and does everything to hinder the believer from praying. So, just as studying and knowing the Bible is not negotiable, so also praying as a believer is not negotiable. We must pray.
Show me a believer who is rising and falling in his walk with God, and I will show you a prayerless believer. Show me a believer who falls into temptations every now and then and I will show you a prayerless believer. The world we live in now is a world in which only the prayerful believers can survive. And not just any how prayer.
Any believer who desires to live a victorious Christian life in these end times, must learn violent warfare prayers; acidic prayers that will set the kingdom of darkness and Satan ablaze every time.
In a world where evil has reached an unprecedented height in the history of mankind, a believer who knows his onions will have no choice than to brace up and become turbo charged and literally become a prayer machine gun to counter and shatter all the weapons and devices in the armoury of Satan and his cohorts.
Satan does not want anyone to become a true believer. He will fight you with everything he has at his disposal in order to weaken you and make you lukewarm, lazy and hypocritical. His aim is to make you backslide eventually so that you would become his own. But you can stand your ground and resist him.
The only sure way is by developing the habit of praying ceaselessly, acidic and fiery prayers.
No believer in this present world can survive without fire prayer. Your entire life as a believer must, at all times be seated on the flames if the fire of prayer. The situation of the present world demands it so. Ice cream prayer will achieve nothing.
Prayer is the power of the believer. How did Apostle Paul succeed as a believer and an apostle of Christ? He prayed always and counselled all believers to “pray without ceasing”.
A believer who desires to grow and succeed, must learn how to pray. Paul and Silas showed the example of praying in a situation of adversity, when they were incarcerated in the prison. They prayed and sang and the power of God came down and liberated, not only the both of them, but other prisoners too.
A victorious believer therefore is the one who would not go down brooding over his problems and challenges, but will rather rise up like a true soldier and take authority over any ugly situation and fight it with the weapon of prayer.
Every believer, as a matter of necessity, will have no choice than to cultivate the habit of praying ceaselessly with prayers thoroughly spiced with the words of God; words of power.
