Standing with Jesus Christ, no matter what.

Zig Ziglar, one of the greatest speakers on human resource management topics speaking on the issue of the ability to look beyond failure and rising from it and moving forward, said: “The next time you encounter a difficult situation or obstacle or problem, you should just smile and say, ‘Here is my chance to grow,’”.

Another inspirational speaker also admonished: “Be cheerful. Don’t burden or depress those around you by dwelling on your minor aches and pains and small disappointments.  Remember that everyone is carrying some kind of loads.

One may fail in one thing or the other, but that certainly isn’t going to be the end of one’s life.  Yes, it is true failure brings depression. Failure brings frustration.  Failure brings disappointment.  In fact, there is nothing good in failure.  No one wishes to fail in any venture in life. Success is what everyone craves, desires and pursues.  No one Pursues failure as one does success.

The truth, however, is that everyone who aspires for success, more often than not gets to a stage where failure becomes inevitable.

Someone said, “It is not the number of times that I fail that matters, but the number of times that I rise from failure”.

It is true that success is the brother, sister, mother, father and friend of everyone.  But failure is an orphan. Failure is a lone ranger.  Failure has no relation.  Failure is always lonely because no one loves or wants to associate with it.

One fact we must all hold fast, is that no one is failure proof.  All we all need is the courage to face our failure if and when it comes with the spirit of perseverance and the attitude of “I can”, then we will surely turn our failure to good success.

Success does not come suddenly or without set backs.  As human beings and Christian believers, one must not submit to the life of failure.  We must look beyond our failures and focus more on our dreams and aspirations then work hard, going the extra mile to achieve them.  And we will.

Failure is a situation that happens so that we can learn the right and better way to do things.  Failure is part of a learning process and not the end of our life.  We are supposed to learn from our failure in order to succeed eventually and not to be discouraged and then call it quits.

The Bible says: “If you quit in the days of adversity, your strength is small”.  Adversity is a training ground; the harder the training, the more effective and experienced you become.  Success will smile at the man who refuses to lie down at the corridor of failure.

Someone said: “Failure comes to us all.  No matter how hard we try, sometimes things will go wrong.  Success is usually gained through long striving”.

We are called to be brave and courageous.  Let the ugly situation know that you cannot be deterred.  Abandoning your dream and vision is exactly what your adversary; your true enemy, Satan wants.  He will be very happy if you turn away from your walk with God and return to the things you left behind; he will be happy.  But if you stand firm and dust yourself and shake off the dust of your failure from your body, and march forward pursuing the same heavenly goal and vision unperturbed, the Devil will feel intimidated.  He will feel insulted.  He will feel defeated.  He cannot face God because he has failed in his bid to stop you and separate you from Him.

At this stage, don’t ever relent.  Continue to charge yourself and your spirit man with the fire and power of prayer and remain in the presence and power of God every moment of every day.

What makes failure and suffering in the life of a believer to linger unnecessarily, sometimes, is when he becomes careless in victory or careless in the time of trouble.  When failure comes, the only person we should and could consult for help is none other than God Almighty.  Running here and there and putting your hope and desire on man, will result in more failure and disappointments.

Any time you are confronted with difficulties and problems of any sort, and you remember that it is only God, your heavenly Father that can bring solution to your problem, that alone is your first step to deliverance and victory.

Don’t forget that your friends, both real and fake will come to counsel and suggest one thing or the other to you to do.  Be wise.  Consult God.  Present every advice and suggestions of your friends to God to prove and discover their genuineness.

Satan and his agents can transform themselves into angels of light, to appear as true friends and advisors, just to take you into deeper problems.  Be wise. Be discerning. Be watchful.

Put God in every step you take at any given time.  Don’t panic when trouble comes.  If you are a true friend of God, be assured that before that problem started to manifest, God had already solved it in the spirit realm.  You will only use your power of prayer to receive and call the solution to manifestation.

But and, if you begin to panic, crying up and down and running helter skelter, evil counsellors will creep in and compound your problem, making a mountain out of a mole hill your problem was before.  Be wise.

I will refer to the case of Job once again. Let us see what one of his counsellors advised him to do when he was deep into his adversities: “Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity?  Curse God and die”.

Who was counselling Job here to curse God and die?  You know who.  This was supposed to be his closest companion and confidant.  But look at the type of counsel she gave to her husband.

Yes, Job lost ten children, didn’t he?  Now, who was the mother of those children that Satan slaughtered in one day?  Was it not this same Job’s wife?  In other words, she too lost ten children.  Why then should it be Job, her husband who should curse God and die while she herself had not done so and died first?  Evil counsellors will always counsel you to do what they themselves will not dare to try.

Thank God for men like Job.  Men who do not look at their problems but would rather look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of their faith.  Men and women who will always look beyond the darkness of this earth into the brightness of heaven. Such people will never end in failures.

What did Job say to his wife on her counsel?  Job said: “But he (Job), said unto her (his wife), Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh.  What?”(!) Job rebuffed his wife’s counsel and called it foolish talk.  Thank God for this man.

Do you know that many wives have misled their husbands through self pity and rebellious counsels?  Yes, several women have made their husbands the enemies of God.  Whoever is opportune to read this piece should be wise and always weigh the type of advice they entertain, even from their closest friends.

Ahab was recorded as an evil king in Israel, but it was majorly because of the bad influence of Jezebel his wife.

Ahab coveted the vineyard of Naboth but could not get it because Naboth refused to let him have it.  Ahab was disappointed and went home brooding and sulking in despair and disappointment and would not eat his food.  But when Jezebel found out why her husband was sad, she said to him:   “…Arise and eat bread(food) and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite”.

So, by evil counsel, conspiracy, lying and murder, she snatched the vineyard from Naboth and handed it over to her husband, king Ahab.

Some women nag their husbands so much and hard and by so doing they push them into doing what they ordinarily or otherwise would not have done.  Many women crave prosperity and riches of this world at all costs; i.e. no matter how they come.  They push their husbands into looking for wealth and riches from Strange places and into doing many strange and abominable things just to get wealth and riches.  Thereby many women have diverted their husbands’ destinies and made them passengers heading to hell fire in a chariot driven by Satan, just because they want to be like others.

I am not talking about all women. There are thousands and thousands of godly and fantastic women.  Women who are the pillars that keep their husbands on their feet.  These are the true and faithful daughters and servants of God Almighty.  They are the true and faithful lovers and friends of their husbands.  They are not the ones I am talking about here.  I myself am equally a woman.  But I am speaking the truth; what I have seen with my eyes.  So, except these men watch it, many will go to hell; not because of what they did by themselves, but like Ahab, much more because of what they allowed their wives to rope them into.

Challenges are meant to draw us closer to God as I have said earlier.  The wisest thing to do in times of trouble is to go to God and pour out your heart to Him in prayer and sometimes, together with fasting.

Some Christian believers, sometimes, instead of laying their complaints to God, go about reporting God to their friends and relations and whoever else cares to listen to them, how God has disappointed them, and how He has done this and or that to them.  They report God all over the place.

Many backslide in the process and go straight to the camp of the enemy to seek for help.  They cannot bear a little discomfort for God’s glory.  No, all they want is a life of comfort all round.  Life will just be one hell of bore, if everything we know and experience in this world of sin is comfort, comfort and comfort with no form of challenges.

If any one deserved to live a comfortable glorious life devoid of challenges, trials and temptations, that person is Jesus Christ Himself.  But no!  At a certain stage of His life, He had to cry out in pain and agony and said rhetorically: “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”  Which meant “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”  That was Jesus Christ the Son of God Himself!

That was at the peak of his suffering on the cross at Calvary, where he was paying the price for our sins; the ultimate price of death with his life.  But for us to possess this salvation and victory which he died for on our behalf, we want to do it on the bed of comfort.  No, it doesn’t work that way.

Jesus Christ suffered shame, nakedness, being spat upon, ridicule, slander, betrayal, pain and torture to pay the price for our salvation and reconciliation with our heavenly Father, God Almighty.  But many a times, we fail the One who had suffered all these agonies for us by our irrational actions, decisions, words, unfaithfulness, unnecessary complaints, murmurings and ingratitude.  We fail him every time.

Can’t we suffer a little discomfort for our dear Lord Jesus Christ?  Because we can be denied our legitimate rights simply because we belong to him.  Yes.  Should we deny him so that we can get our legitimate rights?  No, we should even count ourselves lucky and blessed to suffer for Christ our dear Lord, Saviour and Friend.  It is all about staying and remaining faithful to Christ, no matter what.

The God of the Christian believer can never come late for our rescue when in trouble.  Can we forget the stories about the four Hebrew boys – Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego? Anyone who has not read about them, should set a good time apart for that purpose.  They are written for our learning and encouragement.

We need to learn and understand the way of God and how we can walk with Him.  The God I am talking about here is not restricted or limited by time.  Time is in His power and under his control. The Bible records in 2 Peter 3:8 “But beloved be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.” Another portion says “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past and as a watch in the night”.

All these are telling us that God is not restricted or limited by time. He has the capability to act now-now and give us our hearts desires, and he has the power to suspend it till twenty, thirty or forty years, according to his own divine programme and agenda.  Ours is to understand God’s methods and submit and wait patiently for His perfect will to take its course in our lives and situations.

If you force God what you will get is is what is called “permissive will” and whatever you see in it is your own  look out, it’s your own cup of tea.  God’s time is still the best till tomorrow.  We must learn to wait for His time and will to be perfected in our life.

Talking about the four Hebrew boys.  It is obvious that they would have wanted God’s immediate intervention to deliver them from the destruction looming against them from the powers that be at that time.  But did God come?  Did they see any sign to show them that God was on their side at that time of great challenge?

Some people had conspired and got the king Darius to sign a decree against Daniel to stop him from saying his prayers.  They didn’t want him to pray to God for thirty days otherwise, he would be cast into the Lions’ den.

The offense of Daniel was that he was righteous and prayed often to God. So when they caught him praying, they took his case to the king and he was cast into the Lions’ den.  Daniel might have expected God to stop them from carrying out that judgment but God did not show up.  Why?

The same played out when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were to be cast into the burning fiery furnace of king Nebuchadnezzar.  God did not show up.  He did not stop the wicked from doing their worst.  He waited for them to do their very worst.  But one thing was clear; Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego didn’t change their minds when God did not show up.  They stood their ground to remain resolute with their faith in God, no matter what.

But we know the outcome in the end.  The lions could not touch Daniel.  The way he was when he was thrown into the midst of the hungry lions was the same way he came out.  The lions could not touch him.

The same was the case with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.  God waited for them to make the fiery furnace seven times hotter than it was wont to be.  Then He allowed them to bind them and throw them into the fire.  All of a sudden, four people were seen inside the fire instead of the three they had thrown in it.  Where did the fourth person come from?

God will let the Devil to display all his power so that He could put him where belongs.  And that was what God did.  He did not allow the lions to touch Daniel.  He also did not  allow the fire of Nebuchadnezzar to touch Daniel’s friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

The only way we can see the faithfulness and wonders of God in our lives and situations is by keeping on trusting in Him no matter what.

Thank you for staying till the end. God bless you. Kindly like, share, subscribe and drop your comments.
