Some anger can be described as momentary madness. A mad person can do some harmful things, even killing their their fellow human beings without realising what they have done during that fit of boiling rage.
Some angry people are like that. They behave exactly the same way a mad person would.
A man gets angry and the next thing he would do is pick up a gallon of petrol pours its content on his wife and lights her up and she catches fire and burns to death.
Some man would put a bottle of acid at the stand-by so that when they go into the fit of uncontrollable anger, they could just pick it up and empty its content on their spouse or sin partner and so completely deform him or her. This is done just to express the full weight of their anger, wrath, fury, indignation or madness.
Some get angry and the next thing is to pick up a sharp knife or object and stab their victim to death. Some get angry and destroy their own property- television, musical instruments, computer, clothing, important documents, or any other valuable property, just to express their anger.
Because of anger, they destroy the properties that they laboured for years to acquire. They wipe off everything in a moment of some devilish fit of anger.
Some even go to the extent of destroying themselves, and in some bizarre cases, they include the entire members of their nuclear family in one fell swoop.
They could drink acid, take rat poison, or spice the family meal with these poisons and feed everyone, thereby killing everyone in the family, without the innocent members knowing that someone has taken a unilateral decision to kill everyone in the home.
Some could make a noose with some ropes and put it over their own necks and hang themselves in a satanic fit of uncontrollable anger.
Many angry men and women have committed some terrible havocs in anger, which at their sober moments, when the anger demon had left them, they begin to feel ashamed. Some of them remain hunted by the terrible result or effect of their actions all their lives. They spend the rest of their lives in regret.
Anger is a very costly habit. Whatever is destroyed during that moment of madness can never be recovered.
Anger has destroyed relationships, businesses, careers, opportunities, and many things that are very dear to people.
If you are a Bible Scholar, you will remember that great man of God, Moses. He lost the rare opportunity to enter the land of promise which he had laboured so much for, for many years, because of a moment of uncontrollable anger. If that could happen to a man like Moses, what do you think can happen to you if you fail to deal with that problem now?
God doesn’t take it kindly with anger and those who indulge in it. Are you there, and your problem is that you are easily provoked to anger and when that spirit of anger is stirred up in you, you can do any damage without batting an eyelid? You need to change immediately.
What is anger? Anger itself is a sin which comes with the spirit of vengeance and vendetta, and leaves in its trail all sorts of destructions and irreconcilable damages.
Many have lost great opportunities and promising careers through habitual anger.
A child who is fond of slamming the door against his parents when being rebuked and walks out on them in anger, will certainly do it to his bosses in the office as an adult and will consequently lose his job/promising career.
If you can do away with anger and imbibe the attitude of humility and meekness, you will surely become great in life. Your ability to come out of habitual anger and its costly and destructive tendencies, is totally in your hand. You can decide to desist from the deadly habit or continue in it. The choice is yours.
If you are a parent and notices this trait in your child, this is when to nip it in the bud. Don’t let him grow with it and it becomes a dangerous habit later in his life.
Satan, the enemy of every man can see this habit in you, and knowing that it is a weakness in you, then he will capitalize on it and use it as a ladder to come in and ruin your life and destiny.
Until you realise the danger anger poses to your existence, Satan will continue to use it as a tool to torment you till he uses it to finish you up as he has done to others before you.
The issue of anger is not what you can wave aside. The habit is not what one can easily jump out of. It takes a resolute decision on your part to do away with it. Then, you come to God for help.
Before you can break that habit completely, you need God’s help. You must bring yourself to God to deliver you. You must pray fervently to God to help you and drive away that spirit of anger.
But, first of all, you must acknowledge that you have a big problem called anger and that you cannot help yourself.
But, if on the other hand, just as some are wont to do, you insist that you are okay and good, saying “I am not that bad. The only thing (not problem, but ‘thing’) is that I am hot tempered.” Then you are gone.
Look back, if you can, and see what anger has cost you already. Look at the destructions and even irreversible wounds; the injuries you have suffered personally and those you have caused others.
Then look into your future, if you can, what it could cost you – your divine destiny; the very essense of your creation and eventually, heaven, if you fail to”Seek God while He may be found and call upon Him while He is near…”
The step to attaining greatness begins with dealing with that destructive habit; that monster – anger. The ball is in your court. The Lord is mercifully waiting for you to come so that He can help you.
Jesus Christ days: “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”, (Matthew 11:28). That anger tormenting you is a heavy load. Take it to Jesus now.
